The BGM PRO impeller for Piaggio 125/180 LC:

The BGM PRO impeller is made of high-quality aluminium and is CNC machined from solid material. It replaces 1:1 the factory-installed plastic impeller.

BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE:

Former 125/180cc Piaggio Maxi engines, as used in the Gilera Runner FX/FXR, Piaggio Hexagon EX/LX/LXT and the popular Italjet Dragster 125/180 models, were equipped with a cast aluminium impeller for the water pump. For cost reasons, Piaggio switched to a plastic wheel during production.

PLASTIC VS ALUMINIUM:

The two-part plastic wheel can come loose from the brass nut. A defect that occurs unnoticed and causes a total failure of the water pump.
The one-piece BGM PRO pump wheel made of high-quality aluminium, on the other hand, is permanently stable and requires no further attention for the entire life of the engine.

CONCLUSION:

A very solid and especially durable solution for the water pump.

Tip:

The water pump wheel has a left-hand thread, so it is unscrewed by turning it clockwise.
